Trademark symbol

The trademark symbol, designated by (the letters "TM" written in superscript style), is a symbol used in the United States to provide notice that the preceding mark is a trademark. This symbol is typically used for trademarks not yet registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; registered trademarks are instead marked with the registered trademark symbol ®. The proper manner to display the symbol is immediately following the mark in superscript style.

The character is mapped in Unicode under position U+2122.1 On Windows systems, a superscript registered trademark symbol may be entered by means of Alt codes, by holding the ALT key while typing the numbers 0153 on the numeric keypad. On Macintosh systems, it may be entered with Option-2. In HTML the entity is ™, while in LaTeX \texttrademark is used.
