Sanandaj
Sanandaj 
pronunciation (·info) (Persian: سنندج, Kurdish: Senne) is the capital of Kurdistan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 311,446, in 81,380 families.[1] Sanandaj is the second largest kurdish city, and it is the twenty-third largest city in Iran. Its historical name is "Sena Dezh".

Society
The economy of Sanandaj is based upon the production of carpets, processed hides and skins, milled rice, refined sugar, woodworking, cotton weaving, metalware and cutlery.
The main landmark of Sanandaj is a fortress dating back to the period of Abbasid rule.
The population of Sanandaj is mainly Kurdish, there is an Armenian minority.[2]
